Rebranding Projects

My design experience broadly has covered being the ‘in-house’ designer, which has the upside of often becoming the brand custodian. I’ve been involved in numerous brand updates and overhauls: below are a couple of my favourites.
Home Page Redesign • My final (and regrettably unfinished) project with Grok Academy was a substantial brand refresh. I nominated new colours, type choices and was working on a cohesive graphic and animation style guide when funding issues meant Grok – an edtech non-profit – suddenly needed to dramatically shed numbers. This home page before/after shows the direction we were moving in.
Grok Swag • As part of Grok’s rebranding exercise, I explored these options for event “swag”. Grok Academy made regular appearances at large scale events and conferences, and there was a steady demand for promotional materials to raise the non-profits profile amongst potential customers and partners.
GrokBot Mascot Design • Developed as part of the brand refresh (at the request of the CEO no less), GrokBot was conceptualised to help communicate product features as well as points of difference. A core concept is GrokBot’s ability to ‘transform’ into things like micro computers and... reptiles. One colour exceptions are shown on the right.
Course Key Art Card Designs • The Grok rebrand project didn’t just include the outward facing parts of the company - I also saw it as an opportunity to drastically improve the platform’s UX experience by taking a new approach to the course cards shown here. To find out more about my process, feel free to read the strategy doc I wrote outlining my concepts.
