Game-themed graphics were another popular thread at Smiggle, with a pixelated execution channeling both current faves like Minecraft and older, 8-bit styles.
Fantasy Icons • I've drawn a fair bit of pixel art over the years! This first repeat drew inspiration from 8-bit RPG games.
Fantasy Pixel Repeat • As a fan of role playing games, I snuck in a couple of quest-giving characters, such as the ogre here asking for a key.
Product • This was a unique yardage destined for a handful of products released in Asia.
8-Bit Stuff • Based on the success of an earlier knoll-y repeat I'd created, I developed what I call my 'pixel consumer goods' yardage.
Repeat • Repeats like this are a bit like Tetris or jigsaw puzzles. Establishing a basic grid was helpful for this one.
Product • This graphic was created for Smiggle's Senior range, appearing on backpacks, slapbands and pencil cases.
3D Style Pixel Art • These things above were created for an "emoji" themed range.
Repeat • I added some tonal elements and speech bubbles, along with some other icons.
Product• This repeat was well received and sold quite well! It was repeated with a change to the base colour.
